This man was responsible for persecuting his people. Secondly its interesting about Jesus response, Christ had every reason to reject or rebuke this Centurion. However when this mans servant was ill, he commanded his people to find Jesus because he believed he could heal his servant So this was probably the last man you would expect to come to Christ. This man was not just a Roman but he was in a leadership role that persecuted and killed Jews and eventually Christians.
